Tonight the XNA Calgary Users Group was treated with a great first year birthday surprise. Thanks to the hard work of the Ineta group having Andy present to the group was a great present and culminated the year of operation just perfectly. Thank you!
Tonight Andy presented the group with the topic of "Xbox Live Community Games Best Practices". Through the presentation Andy covered such "do's and don'ts" of controller handling, guide button processing, and other strong practices that when followed will help ensure your game moves through the Community Games portal as smoothly as possible. Having personally held off releasing any games to the service I was able to learn a great deal from Andy's coverage of the top 20 best practices.
Thank you all who attended for your support!
Attendees were provided with refreshments and pizza after the meeting and additionally five lucky members took home some prizes such as Gears of War 2, HLSL Pocket Quick reference guide, XNA branded 2g thumb drive and two Community Games T-Shirts. Like to take a short moment to thank Scott Wilson for bringing the pop and water to the meeting and my wife (Deborah) and oldest son (Jeremy) for taking care of ordering the pizza and picking up garbage and such.
